Are you passionate about Android internals, Wi-Fi networking, and media streaming technologies like Google Cast? We're looking for a highly skilled Android Wi-Fi & AOSP Engineer to take ownership of core system-level features that power seamless casting and wireless connectivity across Embedded Android platforms.
Key Responsibilities
AOSP Wi-Fi Development: Customize and extend AOSP components, focusing on Wi-Fi stack and Middleware above the driver level.
Google Cast Integration: Optimize and debug Cast performance on Embedded Android platforms.
Wi-Fi Stack Debugging: Troubleshoot complex connectivity issues including authentication, roaming, and signal stability.
Network Optimization: Fine-tune Quality of Service (QoS), buffer management, and channel selection for media streaming.
Supplicant Expertise: Address issues in wpa_supplicant related to authentication, encryption, and wireless network transitions.
Driver & Chipset Work: Collaborate on low-level integration and debugging involving popular Wi-Fi chipsets (eg, Qualcomm, Broadcom).
What You'll Bring
10+ years of experience in Android development, with a strong focus on AOSP and the Wi-Fi stack.
Deep hands-on experience flashing AOSP onto Embedded devices, including customizations in Java and C/C++.
Proficiency debugging the Android Wi-Fi framework and Middleware components.
Experience modifying or extending the Linux Wi-Fi driver or Kernel-level networking components.
Strong understanding of how beacons, probe requests/responses, and wireless scanning contribute to connectivity.
Familiarity with casting technologies such as Google Cast, AirPlay, or Miracast is a plus.
Solid skills in C++, Java, and/or Kotlin.
Proficiency using tools like adb, logcat, Wireshark, and Kernel debugging utilities.
Bonus Points
Experience with vendor-specific Wi-Fi SDKs or firmware (Qualcomm, Broadcom, etc.).
Contributions to open-source networking or casting projects.
Background in optimizing Android devices for Real Time or media-heavy applications.
