2nd Line Support Engineer - ON SITE 5 DAYS A WEEK

We are looking for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our global manufacturing client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a 2nd Line Support Engineer/Floorwalker. The key for the role is to have a blend of the technical knowledge and a "customer focussed" attitude.

Key Responsibilities

Implementing and maintaining the IT infrastructure to ensure up-time and availability of the computer infrastructure, within defined budget limitations to obtain the company's objectives and provide first line support to end users.

Hardware:
Ensure installations, maintenance, replacement and security of the various Servers and other micro devices (eg PC's, Laptops, Network-and Barcode Printers, RF-terminals, LAN Network Routers and Switches )

Network:
Maximise network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation.
Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining/monitoring access.
Support and administer (Fortigate) Firewall environments in line with IT security policy.

Standard server & software client packages:
Implement, support and customisation of the company's standard server & client software.
Support end users on IT issues, ensure appropriate communication between key users and IT.
Ensure solutions for IT requests/changes/issues and problems within the group related to hardware, network and software logged thru a Enterprise Service Management helpdesk system (Topdesk).

Active Directory system:
Setup, maintain, support and customize ADS to meet company's expectations and objectives.

Person specification and background

Education level & general experience:
Bachelor degree
Minimal of 3 years' experience in IT systems infrastructure, preferable with an SD-Wan Network structure.
Experience in an international environment is an asset.
Good general knowledge of IT systems & applications.
Experience in commercial and manufacturing environment is an asset.

Technical knowledge:
Functional knowledge of ICT in general on hardware, network as well as software (eg Operating systems, office-packages) is a must.
Technical knowledge of the above areas is a definite advantage.
Experience with FortiGate Firewall setup/security and setup VPN's is a plus.
Multilingual is an asset.

Behavioural indicators:
Project management skills and thinking attitude.
Good analytical skills.
Result and target driven.
Good communicator at all hierarchical levels.
Flexible and business minded.
Customer driven business thinking and process.
