Debt Recovery Officer (part time)

Are you ready to take on a rewarding challenge in the finance sector? Our client is seeking a dedicated Debt Recovery Officer to join their dynamic finance team on a fixed-term contract for 3 months! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for financial recovery and strong communication skills.

Position: Debt Recovery Officer

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (3 months)

Working Pattern: part time (21 hours per week)

Location: Remote

About the Role

As a Debt Recovery Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational activities of the accounts receivable function. Your focus will be on debt recovery, system reconciliation, and self-certification of member subscriptions. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to maintain up-to-date records on Oracle Fusion.

Key Responsibilities

Chase Debts: Communicate with members to follow up on current and overdue debts via email and phone.

Record Keeping: Maintain a detailed commentary of queries regarding overdue debts and collections.

Invoicing: Send copy invoices, issue credit notes, and prepare customer statements through Oracle Fusion when needed.

Customer Support: Address customer queries, update contact details, and resolve billing inquiries in line with existing processes.

Team Collaboration: Participate in weekly Debtors Meetings with Finance Management and contribute to team discussions.

Customer Setup: Assist in setting up new customers in Oracle.

What We're Looking For

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Prior experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or Sales Ledger with a proven record of recovering outstanding debts.
  • Experience using Oracle Fusion to support accounts receivable activities.
  • Familiarity with financial transaction systems and excellent Excel skills.
  • Deadline-oriented with top-notch data processing abilities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of government spend controls and central government accounting.
  • AAT qualified or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Initiative-driven and able to work independently while collaborating with the team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Flexibility to work within the team to deliver high-quality services.
