Senior SAP ABAP Developer - FPSL OR PaPM Expert

We are looking for a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to join a high-impact project within the insurance and financial services sector. This role will focus on supporting and enhancing SAP FPSL (Financial Posting Gateway) and SAP PaPM (Profitability and Performance Management) environments.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep technical understanding of ABAP development and SAP integration tools, combined with hands-on experience in financial data processing, insurance accounting, and performance management solutions.

• Support the integration of FPSL with ERP and peripheral systems to ensure accurate financial data flow.

• Customise and optimise FPSL data models, ensuring alignment with the Chart of Accounts and SimpliFi.

• Lead the implementation and refinement of PaPM processes to enhance insurance profitability and reporting.

• Translate complex business, tax, and accounting requirements into scalable technical solutions within SAP.

• Design, develop, and maintain financial models, tables, calculations, and allocation logic in PaPM.

• Ensure compliance with insurance accounting standards and secure financial data processing protocols.

• Provide technical documentation and support for governance and audit purposes.

• Train and guide end-users across both FPSL and PaPM, including the creation of comprehensive manuals.

• Troubleshoot integration issues and continuously enhance system performance based on user feedback.

• Strong experience in SAP ABAP development with a focus on FPSL and/or PaPM.

• Proven expertise in integrating financial systems using SAP PI/PO, ALE, BRF+, and HANA.

• Experience in insurance or financial services environments, with a clear understanding of accounting standards.

• Familiarity with Middleware tools and system landscapes in large enterprise settings.

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate business needs into technical deliverables.

• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Exposure to SAP Fiori, WebDynpro, or S/4HANA.

• Background in regulatory compliance, financial reporting, or data governance.

• Experience working in global project teams or regulated industries.
