Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician with experience in managing and maintaining physical data center environments. This role requires strong skills in hardware setup, server racking, cabling, and Linux-based system administration. You will support infrastructure hosted in a company-owned or leased facility, with full ownership and control over hardware, security, and uptime.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform physical installation and maintenance of Servers, storage systems, and networking hardware.

Handle rack and stack operations including cabling, power connections, and labeling.

Manage on-site troubleshooting of hardware and infrastructure issues.

Install, configure, and support Linux-based operating systems on physical Servers.

Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for hardware replacement and upgrades.

Monitor system performance and environmental conditions (cooling, power, etc.).

Maintain accurate inventory and documentation for all physical assets.

Support data center maintenance, security protocols, and compliance standards.

Assist in disaster recovery setup and on-site redundancy planning.

Required Qualifications:
Proven hands-on experience in a physical data center environment.

Strong knowledge of Linux system administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, etc.).

Familiarity with networking basics (IP Addressing, Switches, patch panels).

Comfortable with physical work: lifting equipment, working in cooled environments.

Experience with hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of data center standards, safety, and best practices.

Good documentation and communication skills.

Nice to Have:
Experience with virtualization (VMware, KVM) on physical Servers.

Scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation tasks.

Certifications like CompTIA Server+, Linux+, or similar.

Work Environment:
On-site presence is required.

May involve rotational or on-call support for after-hours maintenance.
