Service Designer | Outside IR35 | SC Cleared | ASAP Start

SR2 is recruiting for an experienced Service Designer on behalf of a consultancy delivering a major public sector digital programme. This is a contract role requiring current or recent SC Clearance, with an immediate start and an initial 12-week engagement.

The role will work closely with a Head of User-Centred Design (UCD) and a multidisciplinary team, helping shape user-centred services in line with government design standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and map end-to-end services that meet user needs and policy intent
  • Collaborate with researchers, interaction designers, content designers, and technical teams
  • Align delivery with GDS principles and service standards
  • Communicate openly and regularly with stakeholders
  • Champion best practice in service design across the team
Experience Required:

  • Strong background in service design within public sector or government projects
  • Hands-on experience with GDS tools, standards, and delivery environments
  • Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams in Agile settings
  • Strong communicator, confident working in the open and with senior stakeholders
  • Active SC Clearance
Contract Details:

  • Outside IR35
  • c£475/day
  • Initial 12-week contract
  • Hybrid working with minimal on-site expectations (location London)
  • Start date: ASAP
