Title: Java API Developer
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Knutsford (Hybrid/On-site as required)
Remote work possibility: No
Salary: Up to £430 per day (inside IR35)
Contract: Until end of Sept 2026
Clearance Requirement: Candidate must be eligible for BPSS

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain APIs and microservices using Core Java, Java 8, and Spring Boot
• Build scalable and efficient solutions with RESTful APIs and Kafka
• Collaborate with BAs and QA teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups
• Write unit and integration tests (JUnit, Cucumber); follow TDD practices
• Perform code reviews, database tuning, and performance optimization
• Contribute to the migration of Legacy systems to modern platforms
• Support release management and provide production support for critical issues
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and project artefacts

• Strong Core Java & API development background
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, REST APIs
• Familiarity with GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins
• Experience writing SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts is a plus
• ReactJS experience is preferred but not required
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
