Location: Northampton (Hybrid - minimum two days per week on site)

Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy partners, working on-site with a financial institution - They are currently seeking a skilled Java API Developer to join their team in delivering innovative Back End solutions in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:

* Participate in the end-to-end software development life cycle, from understanding designs to implementation.
* Collaborate with team members to develop scalable and efficient APIs.
* Assist in improving local development processes and tooling.
* Bring innovative solutions to technical challenges and promote best practices across the team.

Required Skills/Experience:

* Strong experience with Java and J2EE technologies.
* Hands-on knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate frameworks.
* Proficiency in building and consuming SOAP and RESTful APIs.
* Solid understanding of unit testing and test-driven development in a team setting.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

* Previous experience working in a financial services or large enterprise environment.
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development practices.
* Exposure to DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
* Ability to guide and support junior developers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing.
