Wintel and VMware Engineer (SC Cleared) - 6 months - Remote- Inside IR35

Hamilton Barnes are seeking an experienced Wintel and VMware Engineer with SC clearance to join our clients team on a 6-month contract. This role involves providing critical support in migrating and upgrading Windows 2012/2012 R2 Servers to Windows 2016/2019 Servers, working remotely.

This position offers a remote working arrangement, with only occasional onsite required for urgent meetings in Barnwood or Warrington, you will be working alongside one of the UK's leading energy providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Expertise in Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, and patch management.
• Building VMware infrastructure from scratch, including vCenter installation and configuration.
• Practical troubleshooting of issues on Windows OS and various services running on Windows Servers.
• Administration and design of directory services platforms, including configuration and policy management.
• Performing root cause analysis, upgrades, and configuring monitoring tools for system design.
• Installing and configuring ESXi Servers.
• What You Will Ideally Bring/Skillset

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• SC Clearance (Mandatory)
• Hands-on experience with migration projects - Windows 2012 to Windows 16/19 (Is a bonus)
• Strong knowledge of VMware technologies - Hyper-V, Vmware Clusters and DRS/HA and working on VSphere 7+
• Configuration and management of monitoring tools for Windows and VMware environments.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6 months (View for Extension)
• Day Rate: Up to £375 per day (Inside IR35)
• Location: Remote (Occasional onsite for meetings - Barnwood or Warrington)
• Start Date: ASAP
