Company Introduction:
We have an exciting opportunity available with one of our industry-leading consultancy partners! They are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Back up and Storage Technical SME to support ongoing transformation and data analytics initiatives on a contract basis. The Role will involve working with both storage and backup.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:
* As a Data Engineering & Reporting Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and supporting robust data solutions, reporting frameworks, and infrastructure to empower business insights and decision-making.
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define reporting requirements and ensure data accuracy.
* Develop dashboards and reports using BI tools to visualise business metrics.
* Optimise data storage solutions to improve performance and scalability.
* Ensuse data integrity and implement validation rules across data sources.
* Document technical processes, workflows, and design specifications.

Required Skills/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
* Strong experience with SQL and data warehousing technologies.
* Proficient in Python or another Scripting language used in data engineering.
* Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure for data engineering tasks.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
* Experience with big data tools such as Spark, Hive, or Hadoop.
* Knowledge of data governance and compliance practices.
* Exposure to DevOps practices for data (eg, CI/CD, containerisation).
* Experience in agile project delivery or consultancy environments.
