React Native Tech Lead - 6 months - Hybrid - Inside IR35
An experienced React Native Tech Lead is required by a leading financial services client on a 6-month rolling contract, with strong potential for extension. This role has been signed off inside IR35 and offers a hybrid working model, with two days per week onsite in Chatham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable mobile and web apps using React Native (Expo), React.js, and Node.js.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver robust, user-friendly solutions.
- Build reusable, high-performance UI components and integrate third-party services and APIs.
- Set up new repos/modules with appropriate tooling and packages.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications by fixing bugs and adding new features.
- Provide technical leadership through architecture design, code reviews, and mentorship.
- Optimise performance and work with native modules when required.
What you will Ideally Bring:
- Proven experience with ES6, React, and Expo/React Native in a production environment.
- Strong background in state management (eg Redux, Context API) and performance optimisation in React-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with React tech stack including Hooks, React Navigation, Maps, Gestures, Axios/React Query, and AsyncStorage.
- Solid understanding of HTML5/CSS3, responsive web design, CSS preprocessors, and modern bundling tools.
- Knowledge of UI/UX standards for both iOS and Android, including app release processes for the App Store and Google Play.
- Ability to integrate React Native components into existing native apps and familiarity with Bridge and Bridgeless architectures.
- Strong grasp of mobile development principles and best practices.
- Experienced in Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing with Jest, and code review processes.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 6 months
- Location: Chatham 2x Per Week/Remote
- Daily Rate: Up to £630 Per Day (Inside IR35)
