Contract: Inside IR35

Day Rate: £500 Inside IR35

Client: Leading Financial Services Organisation

We are supporting a highly respected financial services client undergoing a major cloud transformation. As part of this, we are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer with solid hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and migration. You'll be a key member of the delivery team, helping to modernise infrastructure and drive the adoption of cloud-native services in a secure, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the migration of infrastructure and services from on-premise to AWS, ensuring smooth, secure transitions.
  • Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Puppet to ensure consistent, repeatable deployments.
  • Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitHub for efficient software and infrastructure delivery.
  • Support deployment activities, incident resolution, and environment optimisation in AWS and hybrid environments.
  • Collaborate closely with senior engineers and architects to implement robust, scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the platform.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements in all infrastructure-related activities.

Essential Experience

  • Solid hands-on experience working with AWS services and environments, particularly in infrastructure migration projects.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and Puppet for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
  • Strong understanding of Git-based workflows, with experience using GitLab or GitHub for CI/CD.
  • Background in Linux/Unix system administration, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment.
  • Clear, proactive communicator with good documentation and collaboration habits.

Additional Information

  • This is a remote-first role, but the successful candidate will need to attend the Bristol office at least once per month (travel expenses not included).
  • Experience working in financial services or other regulated industries is a plus but not required.
