Job Title: Data Engineering Manager

Overview:

We are seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a team of data professionals within a high-impact training organisation. This role is responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure, ensuring robust reporting frameworks, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the business. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to align data strategy with organisational goals and champion data literacy across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers and analysts
  • Oversee development of data pipelines, models, and warehouse architecture
  • Implement and optimise Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using tools like Power BI and Snowflake
  • Own the end-to-end reporting life cycle, from requirement gathering to delivery and maintenance
  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks ensuring quality, security, and consistency
  • Act as a strategic advisor on data solutions to improve business and learning performance
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and data literacy within the team and wider organisation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify data needs and deliver actionable insights

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing a data engineering or BI team (3+ years)
  • Strong technical background with 5+ years in data engineering, analytics, or BI
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, Power BI, DAX, Azure Data Factory, and modern data pipelines
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, governance, and cloud-based platforms
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience working with educational, training, or EdTech data is beneficial
  • Understanding of data standards such as SCORM, xAPI, or LTI is a plus
  • Familiarity with Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint integrations desirable
  • Project management skills or certifications (eg, Agile, PMP) advantageous
