Project

Undertake a Technical Proof of Concept and gain associated assurance for Pharmacists to have access to nationwide portal to allow confirmation of safe prescribing of certain medications

With appropriate permissions, this would also potentiate future use of access to the portal for enhanced services, including access to discharge information and requesting tests to support enhanced service delivery.

The successful candidate will be required to take over the project management of the following in-flight project:

The Project Manager will also be required to manage the input to the project from various stakeholders, (pharmacists, clinicians and team members)

Will also be required to manage the day-to-day input and contribution from the project support/administrator.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and manage the successful delivery of national projects of significant size, complexity and risk ensuring that national projects produce the required products, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.

Draft business cases with input from specialists as necessary, highlighting benefits, risks, costs and sustainability issues.

Describe and confirm the project vision, scope and definition

Drive the project(s) through life cycles, including project initiation and project closure, transition to service

Line-manage staff across project, allocating responsibilities and assigning packages of work, taking accLead the project to deliver agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints, ensuring project goals have been achieved.

Develop and monitor project plans, ensuring they are consistent with the agreed project scope.

Identify, assess and prioritise risk associated with the project, and implement responses to them. Identify and manage issues.

Escalate risks and issues where appropriate

Evaluate project progress and performance against objectives within the project plan to enable the project to achieve its goals

Lead on the scoping of testing and pilots, reporting key findingsount of individual and team capabilities.

Ensure handover of all project deliverables in line with the objectives.

Ensure that all end of project documentation is completed and approved by Project Board.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Extensive previous experience of planning and managing projects with successful delivery within time and cost

* Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects, eg PRINCE2 Agile

* Knowledge of resource allocation procedures

* Team management skills.

* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Project Stakeholders

* Track record of problem solving in a project management environment

* Effective interpersonal and communication skills

* Knowledge of NHS Wales or the Health sector

*Rates depend on experience and client requirements
