Data Engineer - SQL - AWS Redshift - DBT - Kimball - CI/CD - Remote

Empiric has received an exciting remote opportunity for an Data Engineer with 5+ years' experience in data engineering, especially in cloud data warehouse environments. Proven expertise in AWS Redshift - internals, WLM, distribution/sort keys, query execution plan analysis, optimization techniques.

Plus hands-on experience with DBT for data transformation and model building. Also strong SQL skills and deep understanding of query performance tuning in Redshift.

Finally this project requires a solid understanding of data modelling principles, including dimensional modelling (Kimball), normalized models, and hybrid strategies.

Remote working is fine, occasional visits to Budapest if needed

Skills/Experience:

• AWS Redshift
• DBT for data transformation and model building
• SQL - Must have query performance experience tuning in Redshift.
• Dimensional modelling (Kimball), normalized models
• Monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Redshift Console)
• Data versioning - CI/CD, and collaborative development practices in DBT
• Term: 6 to 18 Months plus extensions
• Good day rate (B2B is fine) + Starter Bonus + Free Lunch Club experience
