Location: London, hybrid - 4 days per week (1 day WFH)
Contract Type: Initial 6-month contract, with potential to extend
Salary: £700-800pd (PAYE - via Umbrella)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Process Design & Optimisation (PDO) Lead to join our client's team and take charge of small to medium-scale business improvement initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver transformative projects that enhance operational efficiency and value delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end process optimisation initiatives, applying deep understanding across multiple process capabilities.
- Apply and promote best practice methodologies and tools for project and change delivery.
- Independently manage multiple workstreams or projects, ensuring effective execution and value realisation.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, sharing expertise and contributing to training and development efforts.
- Engage stakeholders across levels to align project goals, manage expectations, and gain buy-in.
- Build and implement tailored change management and communication plans for successful initiative delivery.
- Support value measurement and benefit realisation of initiatives.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Six Sigma Green Belt or (ideally) Black Belt
- Strong experience in project and change delivery, particularly within process improvement environments, all industry backgrounds consider (Financial Services preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to apply structured methodologies and adapt approaches based on project needs.
- Skilled at navigating ambiguity, managing risk, and making sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead by example, coach junior colleagues, and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Experience developing and facilitating training or practice artefacts is a plus.
- Familiarity with change management and benefit realisation practices.
- A proactive contributor to a collaborative and inclusive workplace.
- Change and Project Delivery and Delivery Methodology:- Manages multiple independent projects or workstreams; limited cross project dependencies as it pertains to PD&O Capabilities with minimal supervision required. Executes initiatives via standard practice methodologies.
- Project/Team Leadership: -Makes effective decisions during stressful situations by remaining calm while inspiring confidence, assesses the situation and understands what input or analysis is required. Can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.
- Communication:- Communicates effectively with project team by providing clear messages to team without ambiguity and identifies communication barriers within the team. Able to develop a communications strategy or specific communication activities that are built into the broader delivery plan. Create communications and/or content for smaller-scope initiatives.
- Change Management: Builds a change management strategy and plan as part of the delivery of a small-sized effort with less change complexity. Works with the Senior Manager if additional change management expertise is required
- Influence and Stakeholder Management:- Stakeholders are defined; processes are in place but need to be executed upon. Understands different perspectives of stakeholders and responds appropriately. Identifies when expectations may need to be reset, escalates if further support is required. Explains and gains support for the desired outcome/s. Recognises where opinions need to come together and facilitates the team coming together to an aligned conclusion at the level above.
- Resource and Value Management: - Breaks problems into smaller pieces and resolves small to medium complexity problems and escalates large problems with alternative options. Can independently facilitate the development and measurement of the value/benefit proposition of the work.
