Technical Architect (AWS)

£80K-£85K Once per month from London office, and occasional meetings

Our London based Not-for-profit client, have an upcoming requirement for a Technical Architect, with a background of operating in an AWS environment, to join on a permanent basis. The successful applicant will have ideally operated in the Not-for-profit or Education sectors.

  • Lead on architect ure, design and implementation for specific projects or functional/technical areas.
  • Hands-on interaction with implementation teams, internally and externally.
  • Work on Proof of Concept and Prototype tasks.
  • Contribute to Technical Design Authority and Cloud Centre of Excellence discussions and practices, leading in your areas of expertise.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for technologies in your area of expertise (esp. AWS)
  • Work with product and business analysis teams, as well as business representatives to understand underlying customer and business needs, and develop appropriate, long-term technology, people and process solutions which meet those needs.
  • Contribute to and comply with technical standards, strategies, policies and practices when developing solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other staff members to develop budgets and timelines for solutions proposed
  • Assess and evaluate the risks associated with the alternative solutions proposed
  • Keep skills updated and continuously consider wider IT environment, trends, emerging technologies, etc.
  • Contribute to the sourcing strategy adopted for proposed solutions, including systems, software, vendors, potential partners, in-house teams, outsourcing, etc.
  • Form good working relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the business

Key technical experience required for the Technical Architect (AWS)

  • Extensive experience building solutions using key elements of our technology stack, in particular:
    • AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway etc)
  • Knowledge of good, secure and efficient working practices on AWS, with reference to the Well Architect ed Framework.
  • In-depth knowledge of the creation, management, promotion and integration of business data-centric APIs.
  • Understanding of data, domain-driven design, integration, and the importance of data to an organisation.
  • Experience working with 3rd party suppliers to provide cohesive, integrated SaaS solutions.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Excellent business process and architect ural modelling skills
  • Knowledge and experience of a wide variety of platforms, operating systems, systems software, business applications
  • Experience of providing solutions for cloud, on-premise and hybrid applications
  • Ideally, experience of migrating from package solutions (Oracle Siebel)
