Material Planning Analyst

Peterlee, County Durham
Full-Time | 36.5 hours per week
12-Month Contract
Salary: £15.00 - £22.99p/h

We're looking for a Material Planning Analyst to join a world-class manufacturing team based in Peterlee. This role plays a vital part in ensuring materials flow efficiently and accurately to support the production of high-quality machinery used in industries across the globe-from mining to construction.

You'll work with suppliers, schedulers, and operations teams to keep production running smoothly and efficiently. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving complex supply chain challenges, this could be the perfect opportunity.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensuring timely material delivery by collaborating with suppliers and internal teams

  • Managing material planning through MRP and supplier collaboration tools

  • Resolving supply issues to maintain production flow and material availability

  • Tracking supplier performance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

  • Aligning planning parameters with inventory systems to maintain accuracy and integrity

  • Providing clear and effective communication with both internal stakeholders and external partners


What we're looking for

  • Strong background in material planning and scheduling

  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Confident working with MRP systems and inventory planning tools

  • Skilled in data analysis and root-cause problem-solving

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Excel and other relevant software

  • Able to work independently and within a team environment


Desirable qualifications and experience

  • APICS or equivalent supply chain certification

  • Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma principles and methodology
