Lead Oracle Database Administrator

Must have active SC Clearance

Initial 6 months contract

Inside IR35/Hybrid Working in the South West

Core Responsibilities

• Manage and support Oracle and MS SQL Server databases (on-premise and cloud)
• Lead database support across Dev, Test, and Live environments
• Provide 3rd line support and technical design
• Ensure database security, resilience, and compliance
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors
• Lead installation, configuration, upgrades, and performance tuning
• Maintain documentation and train junior staff

Key Technical Skills

• Oracle 19c (Dataguard, RMAN, OEM Grid)
• MS SQL Server
• PostgreSQL
• Windows Server administration
• Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
• Performance tuning, backup/restore, high availability

Other Skills & Experience

• Leadership and coordination across teams
• Problem-solving in high-pressure environments
• Stakeholder management and influencing
• Experience in government or secure environments

Security Requirement

• Must have active UK Security Clearance (SC)
