Business Application Expert
Required for a six-month, mainly remote ccontract, a business application expert to support the successful expansion and adoption of a new Customer Data Platform (CDP).
Role: To work closely with both business, operations and technical teams to ensure a high-quality, scalable and efficient CDP setup and use case implementation, that enables data-driven marketing globally.
This is a hands on, cross-functional role, requiring someone comfortable with both technical troubleshooting and business context, capable of managing between platform support, configuration and data model improvements when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Incident handling and troubleshooting: Act as first line support for platform issues. Quickly investigate and resolve incidents that affect data flows, audience delivery or platform behaviour.
- Monitoring and optimisation: Keep an eye on platform performance and usage (eg. sync success rates and consumption). Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
- Configuration and governance: Manage platform configurations, access control (RBAC) and approval flows. Ensure our platform remain compliant, secure and aligned with our operating model.
- Collaboration with data teams: Work closely with data engineers and analysts on integrations, pipelines and data model updates. Especially using tools such as dbt, Terraform and BigQuery.
- Documentation and knowledge sharing: Create and maintain documentation and troubleshooting guides.
- Quality assurance: Run regular checks and tests across key audience use cases to ensure data quality and consistency.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Understanding of marketing activation, customer service and other customer data use cases
- Understanding of CDP capabilities such as audience segmentation, identity resolution, personalisation and campaign delivery.
- Hands on experience with CDP's (eg Hightouch, ActionIQ, Segment, Mparticle).
- Familiar with GDPR and data governance practises.
- Data engineering knowledge, especially GCP BigQuery, dbt and Terraform to understand and support how data is modelled and activated in the CDP.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to follow data across systems and quickly identify root causes.
- Clear communication skills, comfortable working with tech teams and marketeers across different regions.
