Cloud Security Engineer - Liverpool

Harvey Nash is currently recruiting for an exciting permanent role with a client of ours, a leading professional services organisation who are currently undergoing lots of change and transformation. It is a really exciting time for an enthusiastic security professional, to join a dynamic and motivated team where they will have the opportunity to make instant impact.

The role:

  • Manage, implement, and maintain security controls for IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS services.
  • Build and enhance M365 security capabilities using E5 licensing.
  • Continuously review and improve technical controls across Microsoft Azure and Azure AD.
  • Design and implement technical security controls in Azure IAAS environments.
  • Provide risk analysis and end-to-end control design for new cloud services, ensuring cloud services align with security best practices.
  • Secure configuration and operation of cloud networks, Firewalls, and edge protection.
  • Design and enhance cloud security strategies and alerting mechanisms.
  • Define system security requirements including encryption and key management.
  • Implement Azure security features like DDOS protection and monitoring.
  • Facilitate threat modelling and remediation planning.
  • Monitor for security breaches and intrusions.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving cloud risks and industry standards.

The candidate:

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure AD.
  • Experience with Azure security configurations and certifications.
  • Familiarity with M365 E5 security features.
  • Experience with networking components (Switches, Routers, Domain Controllers).
  • Understanding of encryption, key management, and IAAS design.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (CIS, NIST, PCI-DSS, GDPR).
  • Experience in risk analysis and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Ability to identify vulnerabilities and implement remediation.
  • Experience in defending hybrid infrastructure environments, including on-premises and cloud (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS), with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Awareness of the latest security and technological developments, and the ability to integrate these into your work.
