Salary/Rate: £320 - 370 per day Dependent on experience

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with a focus on AWS to join our team for a short-term engagement supporting a high-impact project in the "Life Moments" domain. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Java development and cloud technologies, with a strong grasp of building and maintaining scalable microservices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, test, and maintain robust Java-based microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
2. Design and implement RESTful APIs adhering to best practices and enterprise standards.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver technical solutions aligned with business goals.
4. Contribute to the full development life cycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, and deployment.
5. Utilise cloud platforms such as AWS and tools like Jenkins, Git, and Nexus to support DevOps practices.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
7. Write unit tests using JUnit and contribute to automated testing strategies.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. Strong foundation in OOP, Core Java, and Advanced Java concepts.
2. Hands-on experience with REST API, Spring Boot, Spring Core, and Microservices architecture.
3. Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and container orchestration platforms like OpenShift V3 (preferred).
4. Proficiency with tools and technologies such as: Maven/Gradle, SOAP, JUnit, Oracle DB, Jenkins, Nexus, JBoss/Tomcat, Git, Linux/Unix Shell Scripting, JIRA, Exec API
5. Solid understanding of Microservices design patterns and architecture.
6. Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
