Data Management Lead (MDM)

We need an experienced Global Data Management Lead to define, implement, and oversee data management capabilities and technologies across the global organisation. This role is responsible for developing and executing a global data management methodology, strategy, and processes that support master data management platforms, enabling data-driven decision-making and reporting. Closest way to describe this role could be as a Data Management Business Partner. This means looking at data Lifecycle across the various businesses, understanding what the business users do in their areas and relaying that to the technical team, creating common standards in a pragmatic and realistic way to ensure that processes and principles are implemented in the same way by the technical team. You will ideally come from a strong consulting background and have recent MDM implementation experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the deputy for the Global Head of Data Management and Data Governance when required.
  • Sponsor and oversee the delivery of enterprise-wide data management projects, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Lead and manage the organisation master data management program, including strategy development, governance, and global implementation.
  • Define and implement data management processes, policies, standards, and best practices to drive consistency across the organisation.
  • Ensure clear roles and responsibilities for data management at strategic and operational levels.
  • Provide technical expertise on data management tools and platforms.
  • Foster a data-driven culture by providing advisory support and advocating for Business Intelligence adoption across all levels of the organisation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and key liaison for stakeholders, ensuring alignment with data objectives.
  • Coach and mentor employees, promoting data literacy and strategic use of data within the business.
  • Communicate strategies and plans to executive leadership, influencing and educating stakeholders on business needs and data-driven initiatives.

Essential experience

  • Deep experience leading data strategy, governance, and management projects at a global level.
  • Proven experience in implementing data management operating models and master data initiatives across diverse sectors.
  • Strong background in enterprise data transformation and global data governance.
  • Expertise in data protection regulations (US & Europe) and risk functions such as Legal and Reference 360.
  • Hands-on experience with Informatica Customer 360 and/or other data management tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present data strategies to executive leadership and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in advisory or consultancy environments, defining and securing approval for data strategies.

Additional requirements.

  • Willingness to travel internationally occasionally, primarily across the US and Europe.
  • Ability to work on-site at UK Head Office for at least two days per week (dependent on location).

The company is on a transformational journey to become a truly data-driven organisation. This role offers an opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping the global data strategy, working with executive leadership to embed data management best practices across the business.
