Position: Backend Engineer - VOD & Live Stream Encoding
Location: 100% Remote (Candidates must be based within the EU/Europe)

We are currently seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team developing advanced solutions for Video-on-Demand (VOD) and live stream encoding. This is a fully remote position for candidates located within Europe, contributing to the Back End systems that power next-generation media platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain Back End components for VOD and live streaming services
• Develop new features and enhance existing ones within a distributed architecture
• Conduct performance tuning and optimise encoding workflows
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production systems
• Contribute to ongoing system maintenance and reliability improvements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Back End software development, with a strong command of C++
• Demonstrated experience in media technologies, including codec and streaming protocols (eg MPEG-DASH, HLS)
• Hands-on involvement with video processing pipelines, particularly split-and-stitch encoding
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and deployment automation
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Akamai, Oracle Cloud) - deep expertise not required, but experience with S3-compatible storage is essential
