NAV/BC Engineer | Contract | Outside IR35 | Remote

Method Resourcing are working with global firm, that need a NAV/Business Central Engineer for a long-term contact role, to work on a NAV to BC migration

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the technical delivery for the NAV to BC migration, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Review and assess existing NAV customisations, identifying those requiring redevelopment in AL for BC.
• Develop and extend Business Central using AL and the extensions model.
• Migrate and validate data between NAV and BC, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, functional consultants and end-users throughout the project life cycle.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and optimisation during and after the transition.
• Document all technical processes and support handover to internal teams.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central development.
• Proficient in AL development and Visual Studio Code for BC extensions.
• Strong understanding of the differences between NAV and BC architecture.
• Experience with data migration tools such as RapidStart or third-party solutions.
• Solid grasp of ERP processes across finance, inventory or supply chain functions.
• Familiarity with Power Platform (eg Power BI, Power Automate) is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a wider team.

Desirable

• Previous experience migrating NAV custom code to BC extensions.
• Exposure to DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines for Business Central.
• Microsoft certifications in NAV/BC are a plus.

Contract Details

• Day-rate up to £600 per day
• Outside IR35
• 12 month initial contract
• Remote, quarterly visits to central London
