DevOps Contractor - Laravel/AWS/Terraform (Outside IR35, Remote, Ad Hoc)

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ADHOC/PART TIME POST

We're looking for an experienced DevOps contractor to support one of our digital clients with some urgent and essential Server Side updates. This is a fully remote, outside IR35 contract role, initially expected to take around 1 week, with the possibility of ongoing ad hoc work thereafter.

Key Tasks

The following updates are required to maintain functionality and compliance, as certain dependencies are being deprecated:

1. Upgrade Laravel MySQL to v8 and upgrade Aurora Serverless to v2 - Essential & urgent

2. Upgrade GitHub Actions and resolve an issue where tmux ignores the flag and always runs

3. Upgrade Terraform configuration

4. Upgrade to Node.js v20 (from v18) - Essential & urgent

5. Upgrade aws-vault

6. Update all README documentation for internal accessibility and conduct a video walkthrough with staff to ensure access

Required Experience

• AWS (including Lambda & Aurora)

• Laravel

• Terraform

• Node.js

• aws-vault

• Experience in DevOps/platform engineering

• Comfortable working autonomously and delivering updates with minimal disruption

This is ideal for someone looking to pick up a short-term project with the flexibility to support the client as needed going forward.
