Harris Global are currently looking for a Network Engineer to join our client on a permanent basis.

You will support and secure the systems that keep our clients organisation connected and protected. You'll be an integral part of a collaborative technology team that thrives on finding solutions to complex challenges with a key focus on the resilience, optimisation and defence of their network infrastructure.

Candidates must be CCNP Certified.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure the reliability and security of all internal network services
• Carry out network enhancements and maintenance with minimal disruption to users
• Apply and refine security configurations, particularly for Firewalls and network access
• Proactively monitor network performance and respond to issues or alerts
• Contribute to ongoing infrastructure initiatives, offering network insight and recommendations
• Manage incidents effectively - from analysis and troubleshooting through to resolution
• Maintain detailed technical documentation and share knowledge across teams
• Plan and execute upgrades to hardware and software, including OOH maintenance
• Participate in a rota to provide emergency technical support
• Keep informed on the latest technologies and cyber threats to strengthen network defences

Skills will include:

• Certifications such as CCNA, plus advanced certifications like CCNP or CCDP
• Deep understanding of routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and Layer 2 protocols such as VLANs, STP, 802.1X
• Hands on experience with Cisco technologies across Routers, Switches, wireless and Firewalls
• Proficiency in WAN and remote access technologies including FlexVPN, DMVPN and Cisco SD-WAN
• Solid background in Firewall security, including Check Point.
• Knowledge of Cisco IPT platforms such as CUCM, Jabber and Expressway
• Familiarity with QoS techniques, UCS and datacentre networking (Nexus, ACI)
• Exposure to hybrid and cloud connectivity
• Experience with Cisco UCS and converged infrastructure (desirable)
• Understanding of data centre architectures and cloud-native networking (desirable)
