AVD Tech Lead - 6 months - Hybrid (London or Chatham) - Inside IR35

Hamilton Barnes is seeking an experienced Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Tech Lead to join a global IT Consultancy on an initial 6-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the design and delivery of high-impact AVD solutions within a large-scale transformation programme, leveraging the latest Microsoft cloud technologies.

This hybrid role requires 3 days per week onsite, offering a collaborative and client-facing working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and implementation of enterprise-grade AVD solutions
• Manage day-to-day operations and optimisation of the AVD environment
• Drive infrastructure automation using PowerShell, ARM/Bicep, or Terraform
• Ensure compliance with security and governance standards
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to align delivery with business goals

What You'll Ideally Bring:

• Strong IT infrastructure experience, specifically in Azure Virtual Desktop
• Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS, Entra ID (Azure AD), networking and storage
• Hands-on experience with FSLogix, Intune, and profile/image management
• Proficiency in Scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Terraform etc.)
• Excellent communication skills with experience in client-facing technical leadership

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6 months (Strong View to Extend)
• Location: Hybrid - 3 Days per Week Onsite in London or Chatham
• Daily Rate: £450 (Inside IR35)
• Start Date: ASAP
