Data Architect - Inside IR35 - Hybrid - 3 Month Contract

A leading utilities company based in the Midlands is seeking an experienced Data Solution Architect to join their team on an initial 3-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact data initiatives within a complex enterprise environment.

The position is offered inside IR35 and comes with a competitive daily rate, reflecting the level of expertise required. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping data architecture and strategy across critical business functions.

Key Requirements:

• Architect and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms using Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric for both Real Time and batch processing use cases.
• Establish and maintain robust data governance, security, and compliance frameworks in line with regulatory and organisational requirements.
• Design and optimise cloud-native storage and compute architectures to support petabyte-scale workloads, leveraging Delta Lake, ADLS Gen2, Synapse, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and NoSQL technologies.
• Champion DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) best practices through the implementation of automated CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
• Lead the integration of AI/ML and advanced analytics capabilities using Databricks, Power BI, and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.

What you will ideally bring:

• Proven experience as a Data Solution Architect, ideally within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Azure data services, including Azure Synapse, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB.
• Deep understanding of Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Delta Lake for both Real Time and batch data processing.
• Solid experience in implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks aligned to industry regulations.
• Proficient in designing scalable, cloud-native data architectures to support high-volume, high-performance workloads.
• Strong background in DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code, with experience using Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
• Demonstrable experience integrating AI/ML and advanced analytics solutions, including Power BI and MDM platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and influence architecture decisions.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 3 months (View to Extension)
• Location: Coventry 3x Per Week/Remote
• Daily Rate: Up to £600 Per Day (Inside IR35)
