The Role

As a Senior/Lead Front End Developer, you'll provide technical leadership and mentorship, shaping scalable, high-performance applications that are critical to client success. Working within a collaborative, cross-functional team, you'll drive innovation, influence best practices, and deliver solutions that make a real difference.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor a talented team of developers.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust Front End components using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Collaborate closely with architects and teams to build scalable, secure solutions.
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high-quality, performant, accessible code.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Engage directly with clients, providing technical leadership and strategic advice.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
  • Proven experience with Express.js and Nunjucks.
  • Familiarity with the GOV.UK Design System and CASA UI framework.
  • Experience with MongoDB and other NoSQL technologies.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud-native services (IAM, SQS, S3, Secrets Management, KMS).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Git version control.
  • Deep knowledge of web standards, accessibility, and performance best practices.
  • A history of success mentoring developers and leading projects
