SC Cleared Data Engineer/Analyst
Location: Derby Area (onsite 3 days per week)
Duration: 3 months + Ext

Day rate: £475
Clearance: Ideally Active SC
We are looking for an SC cleared Data Engineer/Analyst to support our client's early-stage data environment in the Derby area. This position requires on-site presence at least three days a week and a minimum of five years' relevant experience. The role is consultative, focusing on helping the client maximise the value of their current data assets while also shaping a vision for future growth, with guidance and support from our team.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assess and optimise the client's existing data infrastructure and workflows, ensuring the organisation makes the most of its available data. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining data pipelines and architectures, developing ETL processes, and preparing data for analytics and reporting. The role involves close collaboration with both technical and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and innovation.
You will also support the integration of analytics or machine learning models, ensure data quality and compliance, and help develop data governance policies. Providing consultative guidance, you will contribute to building a scalable and forward-looking data roadmap for the client.
Key Skills and Experience
- Active SC clearance
- Minimum of five years' hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field
- Proficiency with data processing frameworks (eg, Hadoop, Spark)
- Experience with ETL tools and developing ETL processes
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or Java
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with modern data warehousing solutions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
