The Role

Integration engineer with strong background in Emissions/Gas Path/Aftertreatment.

A good candidate may include calibrators with good experience in emissions or base engine engineers with emissions knowledge including test bed experience

  • Support the development of the engine/aftertreatment physical base system engineering
  • Knowledge understanding the integration of the different Core system - Aftertreatment and GasPath
  • Hands on e xperience of Calibrate diesel engine for emissions on dyno with emissions targets

Your responsibilities:

  • Robust requirements and targets delivered on-cycle to programmes.
  • System artifacts (MBSE models, use case analysis, LAD, FFA/DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP, requirements, standards) developed off-cycle and updated on-cycle as required.
  • New functions delivered by statement of capability (SOC) and Feature statement of intent (FSOI) process.
  • System compatibility Issues identified, reported and efficiently resolved
  • Ensure functions adherence to the use of specified engineering methods, computer tools and aids applied
  • Support Vehicle, domain and any other indirect team members understanding of the integrated propulsion functions.
  • Chair technical reviews/forums and resolve complex cross functional issues.
  • Develop methods & run technical studies into future technologies.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Relevant experience in development of electrified propulsion system as MHEV, PHEV
  • Proven experience with emission calibration and understanding regulations
  • Good understanding on the Gas path chemistry of ICE engines
  • Understand calibration knowledge/sensor control
  • Analyzing of standard cycles like different test cycles Emission Tests and identifying and solving issues related to Emissions.
  • Experience and exposure to CAE on vehicle, propulsion and sub-systems.
  • Experience in defining Test cases and DoE for HIL, PIL, VIL and vehicle environment.
  • Full UK or equivalent driving licence
  • 8D issue resolution and data statistics 6 sigma methods

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or automotive engineering
  • Previous experience in working in emission calibration
  • Relevant experience of working in powertrain systems engineering and Gas path
  • Good understanding on the MHEV system and calibration on different test cycles
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Be technically curious, with a strong analytical approach
  • Have a track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • CAE experience on vehicle and propulsion sub-systems with exposure to Simulink modelling
  • Experience in the specific area of: Emissions, After-treatment, Gas-path, Base engines, HV Systems, Torque and Energy Arbitration.
