Senior/Lead Java Engineer

Up to £90,000

3 days per week Manchester

I'm currently partnered with an exciting scale-up business who are currently looking for a Senior Java Engineer to act as a lead technologist on the more challenging product builds, and point the team in the right direction.

The business's media platform serves key customers globally and their platform is critical for managing live graphics, and supporting clients with design and speed.

As the business has gained new clients in new areas, They are looking to hire a senior engineer, who will act as the most senior engineer in Manchester, diving in to the tough challenges, managing the fast pace and fluid environment with a clam demeanour and drawing on relevant experience, to lead from the front in all things tech as the company continues its growth- naturally this role offers a lot of progression.

What will you be doing:

• Lead from the front on challenging technical solutions cantered around Java AWS, Spring, Kubernetes- and the continued build of their platform and products.
• Implement and develop new features based on business requirements
• Optimize ways of working and offer support and technical guidance.
• Work across cross-functional teams to ensure system stability and scalability
• Maintain best practices and influence best practice

What are they looking for:

• Strong experience and natural curiosity with modern Java frameworks
• Lead development on platform engineering for our Java-based Back End
• Maintain and expand our infrastructure-as-code
• Ability to build out and work on challenging problems to find a solution across the tech stack - experience with AWS platform is ideal.
• Previous experience in fast paced scaling environments is a bonus, but a level of know how and confidence will set you apart.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure project success
• Take ownership of new feature development
