Network Engineer, HPE Aruba, Cabling/Audit, North West + Travel, 12 Months, Outside IR35, £Good

We have an exciting new opportunity for a current inflight project with an existing long term customer which will be shortly resume. As a result of this we are looking for an experienced Network Survey and Audit Engineer to support HPE Aruba wireless deployments across multiple sites. This combined role covers completing a cabling survey and technical audit when attending each of the customer sites.

Please note that this position is anticipated to last for 12 months on a Full time basis, primarily focusing on sites within the North West of England. Therefore, the candidate must possess a valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle, as the role involves onsite visits to these regional sites and is happy to commit to travel.

The Role:

The position will require the engineer to assist with a cabling survey and a technical audit at each location. The following tasks are anticipated to be completed:

  • Capturing and Documenting information at each customer site upon arrival, including the location of comms cabinets (measuring cabinet size and depth, and photographing each existing cabinets and surrounding area), Record existing AP locations, and identify locations of proposed AP locations (Both Internal and External, and taking pictures), assess main cabling routes and ceiling heights, in preparation of physical cabling installations. Photos also to be taken onsite and provided as part of captured documentation.
  • Map out proposed fibre routes (ducting and catenary), Assess main routes for any joinery works that may be required, assess site access and storage options for materials/equipment, and equipment required to perform future installations (eg ladders, lifts or platforms etc)
  • Review asbestos survey details (provided by the site) and document any restrictions or hazards.
  • Review current Switches onsite, confirming make, models/versions, and number of ports in use and number of ports not currently being used
  • Whilst on site, Capture photos and complete survey documentation with efficient information

The Person:

  • Previous, demonstratable experience as a Senior Network Engineer, with emphasis on site survey/auditing experience.
  • Hands on experience with HPE Aruba (AP's, Switches)
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills - you should be confident in the ability to accurately record technical details and layouts.
  • Possessing an Enhanced DBS Child Barring is preferred, as we can facilitate the process for you once you are selected.
  • Possess a Valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle
  • Adept at working in an on-site environment and willing to travel daily.
