Role Overview
As a senior strategic leader, the Director of Data & Analytics will shape and drive the company's overarching data vision. Acting as a critical link between business objectives and data capabilities, this role ensures that analytics are Embedded into decision-making processes-empowering the organisation to operate more intelligently, efficiently, and profitably.
You'll collaborate closely with senior leadership and C-level stakeholders to shape our commercial direction, fine-tune revenue analytics, and extract actionable insights from customer data. Although this is a strategic leadership position, our dynamic environment means you'll also stay hands-on-whether that's enhancing a data pipeline, improving performance dashboards, or diving into complex analytical problem-solving when needed.
You'll lead and mentor teams across key analytics functions such as Product, Marketing, Commercial Analytics and Data and Analytics Engineering:
The teams use tools like Segment & Mixpanel to track user behavior, guide product strategy, and measure feature impact. We analyze data from Salesforce, NetSuite, and other sources to drive revenue performance, pipeline insights, and sales forecasting. From an engineering perspective, we maintain Python-based data pipelines for seamless ingestion into Snowflake, using dbt to model and optimize data.
This position calls for a unique mix of strategic insight, strong leadership, and hands-on technical capability. You'll be expected to guide executive decision-makers, manage and inspire high-performing teams, and step in to contribute directly to project delivery when the situation demands it.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Impact
- Partner with C-suite executives to provide data-driven recommendations on revenue growth, commercial performance, and product strategy.
- Define and execute a data strategy that aligns with business priorities and enables faster, more informed decision-making.
- Establish a data-driven culture, ensuring teams across the business leverage analytics effectively.
Commercial & Product Analytics
- Define and track core revenue KPIs, sales performance metrics, and customer behaviour insights to optimise growth strategies.
- Work with Finance and Sales to enhance forecasting, pipeline analysis, and pricing strategies.
- Develop insights around customer lifetime value (LTV), churn, and acquisition effectiveness, helping refine go-to-market strategies.
Data Infrastructure & Execution
- Guide the development and optimisation of data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Ensure the Snowflake data warehouse and dbt models are structured efficiently for business analytics.
- When necessary, jump in to debug a data pipeline, optimise a SQL query, or refine a key dashboard to keep things moving.
Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Bridge the gap between business and data teams, ensuring technical solutions align with commercial needs.
- Present complex data insights in a clear, compelling way to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop a roadmap for analytics maturity, ensuring teams evolve from basic reporting to advanced predictive analytics.
About you - what we are looking for:
Must-Have Experience
- 10+ years in data & analytics roles, with significant leadership experience in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Proven track record advising and influencing C-suite executives using data-driven insights.
- Experience defining business KPIs, revenue performance metrics, and customer analytics strategies.
- Strong commercial acumen-deep understanding of SaaS business models, including ARR, retention, expansion, and churn dynamics.
- Willingness to be hands-on when necessary-whether it's refining a data model, troubleshooting a pipeline, or debugging a reporting issue.
Technical & Analytical Skills (Should be able to lead teams and contribute hands-on when needed)
- Experience working with Salesforce, NetSuite, and commercial analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines and ETL workflows, ideally using Python.
- Expertise in modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data modelling with dbt.
- Familiarity with self-service analytics platforms (Looker, Omni, Holistics, Lightdash, Mixpanel, Amplitude).
Leadership & Communication
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into business decisions.
- Experience leading and scaling cross-functional teams across analytics, engineering, and business operations.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, ensuring data initiatives drive measurable business impact.
