Job Title: OpenShift Platform Engineer

Location: 100% Remote

Experience Required: 3 to 6 years

Job Overview:

RED Global are seeking a skilled and motivated OpenShift Platform Engineer to join a reputable client of ours in Europe. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing containerized environments and working with OpenShift in disconnected User-Provided Infrastructure (UPI) setups. This role involves maintaining and upgrading platform components, supporting onboarding teams, and driving automation and scalability for upcoming bare metal deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain OpenShift clusters in a disconnected UPI environment
• Mirror and manage container images for platform upgrades, catalogue items, and operator installations
• Upgrade persistent storage solutions, including NetApp Trident
• Perform upgrades of OpenShift clusters and Day 2 Operators
• Manage Harbor registry upgrades and associated certificate rotations (Harbor, OCP API, and Ingress)
• Handle platform capacity management and monitoring
• Provide support to onboarding teams and assist with knowledge gaps related to OpenShift and container technologies
• Contribute to and drive upcoming initiatives such as bare metal deployments, platform automation, and integration with Advanced Cluster Manager (ACM)

• Container Image Management: Harbor, Quay, Image Registries
• Operating Systems: RHCOS, RHEL, Linux
• Provisioning Tools: Matchbox, Ignition, CoreOS/RHCOS imaging tools
• Configuration Management: Kustomize
• Package Management: Helm
• Scripting & Automation: Bash, Python
