Senior DevOps Engineer - HCM (SAP Converged Cloud)

Working Hours: US East Coast Time (offset patterns such as 10am-7.30pm likely acceptable)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale SAP HCM infrastructure transformation. This is a long-term, fully remote contract role, focused on automation, reliability, and performance across SAP Converged Cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead DevOps practices across HCM systems hosted in SAP Converged Cloud

• Develop, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab

• Support and scale infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible

• Automate cloud provisioning and configuration processes

• Manage Linux environments (SUSE) and support containerised services

• Collaborate across global teams to build secure, scalable, and robust platforms

• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and performance bottlenecks

• Drive DevOps excellence and provide documentation for systems and pipelines

Required Experience & Skills:

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• 6+ years of professional experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering

• Strong expertise with SAP Converged Cloud

• GitLab proficiency (pipelines, version control, CI/CD integrations)

• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, and Linux (especially SUSE)

• Experience in CI/CD, cloud automation, and DevOps best practices

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, Python, and Bash Scripting

• Strong understanding of hyperscaler platforms and multitenant architectures

• Experience with security tooling like HashiCorp Vault, Argo CD, and GitOps workflows

• Solid troubleshooting and debugging abilities

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across time zones

• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English)
