Senior Infrastructure Development Engineer - OpenStack

Location: Remote (UK or US based)
Working Hours: US East Coast Time (offset patterns such as 10am-7.30pm likely acceptable)

We are seeking experienced Senior Infrastructure Development Engineers with strong OpenStack and automation backgrounds to support a large-scale cloud services initiative. This is a long-term, fully remote contract opportunity with a major international technology program.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build technical infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Ansible

• Support both new and existing cloud services deployments

• Troubleshoot complex authentication and infrastructure issues

• Translate high-level technical designs into scalable network and platform architecture

• Document infrastructure processes and procedures comprehensively

• Work across cross-functional teams and support junior engineers as a mentor

• Maintain high standards of output and quality in a fast-paced environment

• Participate in global collaboration efforts, demonstrating strong intercultural awareness

Required Experience & Skills:

• University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

• 6+ years of technical professional experience

• Strong knowledge of OpenStack, Terraform, Ansible, and associated infrastructure tools

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills

• Proven ability to work in complex, collaborative, and time-sensitive environments

• Experience troubleshooting cloud authentication mechanisms

• Analytical thinking with a problem-solving mindset

• Experience influencing others without direct authority

• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed

• Cultural awareness and adaptability in global working environments

• Fluency in English is required; German is a plus

• Knowledge of SAP and the SAP solution portfolio is a plus
