Senior Procurement Manager
Location: London hybrid working
This role is hybrid working - 1 day per week in London and minimal attendance to Aldermanston, Reading
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Procurement Manager with a strong background in pre-contract procurement within complex infrastructure or construction environments. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts and have demonstrable experience managing high-value, multibillion-pound procurements-ideally within the motorways, highways, or rail sectors. A key requirement is proven success in procuring logistics partners for major infrastructure programmes, with a clear emphasis on pre-contract activities. Candidates must show a strategic understanding of the commercial and contractual complexities involved in large-scale procurement.
Outstanding stakeholder management skills are essential, as the role involves close collaboration with senior internal and external stakeholders across highly regulated, multifaceted projects. While end-to-end procurement experience is advantageous, the focus remains on pre-contract expertise. There are no direct line management duties, allowing the successful candidate to concentrate on driving high-impact procurement strategies. A background in public sector procurement is desirable due to the governance involved, though candidates from the private sector with experience in similarly complex, large-scale environments will also be considered. Applicants from local authority, housing, or less complex procurement settings will not be suitable.
Key requirements:
- Extensive Pre-Contract Procurement Experience within complex infrastructure or construction projects, with strong working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts.
- Proven Track Record in High-Value, Multibillion-Pound Procurement, ideally across sectors such as motorways, highways, or rail.
- Successful Experience Procuring Logistics Partners for large-scale infrastructure programmes.
- Exceptional Stakeholder Management Skills, with the ability to influence and engage at senior levels across regulated environments.
- Background in Public Sector Procurement is desirable due to governance requirements, though complex private sector experience will be considered.
Should you require reasonable adjustments at any point during the recruitment process or if there is a more accessible way for us to communicate, please do let us know.
If you consider yourself to have a disability or if you are a veteran, and you meet the essential criteria for the role, you will be put forward for the Guaranteed Interview' scheme whereby you will have the opportunity to discuss this role and your suitability with a member of the Sourcing team.
As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we provide the best talent and encourage all applications regardless of background, in line with our commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.
