Finops Consultant - Luxembourg - Freelance/Contract Role

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

• To maximize the business value of cloud through financial accountability and collaboration between engineering, finance, and business teams.

TASK RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and manage FinOps practices to optimize cloud costs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable faster product delivery while maintaining financial control.
• Develop and maintain a FinOps maturity model to improve processes iteratively.
• Utilize the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS) for consistent cost and usage data analysis.
• Conduct regular financial reviews and provide actionable insights to stakeholders - reporting across SaaS/Cloud providers, analytics
• Train and mentor team members on FinOps best practices.
• Optimize Cloud Usage & Cost - put in place a workload optimization, rate optimization SaaS, PaaS, Licensing & Software, and on-premises costs in combination with public cloud spend
• Map Investments to Business Value - cost allocation, forecasting, budgets, planning and cost estimation

ESSENTIAL TECHNOLOGIES

• Familiarity with cloud service providers such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with FinOps tools and platforms that support FOCUS data.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and financial management software.

CERTIFICATIONS

• FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional.
• Additional certifications in cloud platforms (Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) is a plus.
