MERITUS Talent are working with Europe's leading weapons manufacturer for the recruitment of a Test Systems Product Safety Engineer on a 6 month contract (Inside IR35). Due to the sensitivity of the work, candidates need a valid UK passport.

Test Systems Product Safety Engineer - 6 months - INSIDE IR35 - STEVENAGE - UP TO £55ph - HYBRID WORKING - 2 DAYS A WEEL IN STEVENAGE

What you'll be doing:

• Taking charge of identifying and managing Product Safety requirements derived from hazard and risk assessments
• Collaborating in line with Project Safety Management Plans
• Shaping the development of safe design through logical safety arguments, including comprehensive Safety Case justification reports
• Facilitating hazard identification meetings and maintaining an up-to-date project hazard log
• Conducting peer reviews and performing verification and assurance tasks to validate the robustness of the Safety Case and its supporting documentation

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• In-depth understanding of engineering safety management processes, including hazard analysis and safety case reports
• Solid grasp of safety principles within systems engineering and their integration into effective engineering processes
• Proven experience in creating detailed justification reports
• Strong knowledge of Safety Engineering principles and practices

Desirable

• Familiarity with systems engineering tools and techniques (eg, DOORS, Enterprise Architect)
• Experience in a defence or complex systems environment involving software products
• Knowledge of JIRA
