Engineering Manager - Data Centre (HVAP)
Location: London
Salary: £80,000 + Benefits
Are you a technically strong Engineering Manager with a proven ability to lead from the front?
Our client, a leading data centre services provider, is looking for a highly skilled HVAP Engineering Manager to lead a critical site-based team. You'll be stepping into a vital leadership role, managing both people and processes while ensuring the smooth running of technical operations across the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
.
Lead and manage an on-site engineering team
.
Oversee all planned preventative maintenance (PMP) activities, including creating switching schedules.
.
Take ownership of EOPs (Emergency Operating Procedures) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), including updates and merging where necessary.
.
Provide strong HVAP expertise, especially in switching operations.
.
Deliver technical assessments, ensure high engineering standards and guide junior staff.
.
Ensure logbooks and all H&S documentation are kept fully up-to-date and compliant.
.
Liaise with subcontractors for specialist maintenance, arranging works and quotations for repairs.
.
Champion site health & safety, compliance, and documentation accuracy.
.
Drive performance and ensure teams operate smoothly, both technically and culturally.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
.
Extensive experience in HVAP environments, with confidence in high-voltage switching.
.
A natural leader who can command respect while still being approachable - the team needs someone they can follow.
.
Strong in people management - able to energise and direct teams, especially through transformation or change.
.
Technically proficient with the gravitas to deal with a technically-minded client.
.
Familiarity with data centre operations, maintenance schedules, and compliance requirements.
.
Ability to produce and manage engineering documentation (PMPs, SOPs, EOPs).
.
Experienced in conducting assessments and developing team capabilities.
