Senior Network Consultant (IP/MPLS) - 9 Month Contract (Inside IR35)

My client is seeking a Transport Network Consultant with extensive expertise in IP/MPLS network design and architecture to enable connectivity for a new mobile core.

You will play a critical role in building a transport network that supports multiple service segments, including consumer, enterprise, and wholesale, while ensuring seamless, high-performance connectivity.

Location: Remote/Hybrid (with occasional travel)
Duration: 9 Month contract (Scope for extension)
Rate: Negotiable - Inside IR35

Key Responsibilities:

• Design transport networks to support mobile and fixed services with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
• Hands-on configuration and implementation of IP/MPLS solutions across the network.
• Work closely with the OSS team to drive zero-touch automation and operational efficiency.
• Ensure that the transport network supports services such as DHCP, NTP, DNS, and FTP effectively.
• Build a network infrastructure that caters to mobile service requirements and evolving technologies.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• IP/MPLS Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with IP/MPLS, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, BFD, RSVP), and switching.
• Experience with Nokia Routing and Switching
• Proven track record of designing and implementing transport networks, considering data, risks, and customer experience.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols and IP fundamentals.
• Experience or familiarity with mobile core services and connectivity requirements.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of network automation and security is an advantage (Python/Ansible)
