Electrical Shift Technician
Location: Guildford

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Shift Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a critical data center environment. You will play a key part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of mechanical and engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct daily inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.

Ensure the site's environmental conditions comply with safety regulations.

Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and perform emergency repairs when required.

Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Notify management if subcontractor performance does not meet required standards.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.

Monitor BMS for operational conditions and address HVAC-related issues.

Perform facility walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utility systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve facility and plant defects.

Follow all safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and quality control measures.

Complete all necessary training to effectively perform job responsibilities.

Utilize existing procedures to resolve routine issues while adhering to operational guidelines.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.

Requirements:

Training in a technical discipline, having served an apprenticeship or equivalent, with 1-2 years of related experience.

Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physically able to meet the demands of the role.

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal departments, clients, and management.

Ability to follow standard work routines and procedures.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset.

Basic math skills to calculate simple figures such as percentages and markups.
