About the role:
Having grown rapidly in the new build homes market, Rendesco sees huge opportunity to provide clean heating in the existing homes market. The company’s newest division, Home Energy, aims to provide sustainable and cost-effective heating to residential customers by retrofitting existing homes with heat pumps and creating products and services that drive sustainability and energy savings.
As a Full Stack Developer in the Research & Development (R&D) team, you will be responsible for developing, validating and maintaining solutions using web technologies, primarily for the Home Energy division. You will collaborate with R&D team members and the Managing Director of Home Energy in order to ship quality software that meets the needs of users across their journey of adopting clean heating and energy saving solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating digital tools to solve customer problems in the cleantech industry.
Education:
* A Bachelor’s degree in STEM related subject or equivalent qualifications is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
*
2-5 years of experience developing web-based software applications – mobile app development.
*
Interest or experience in energy, heating, or cleantech industry, where knowledge of heat pumps or equipment installation is a plus.
*
Agile approach to software development.
*
Excellent technical understanding of: Typescript, At least one frontend framework (e.g. React, Vue.js), At least one of the following programming languages: Python, Node.js, Go, REST APIs, and preferably, GraphQL, CMS platforms and/or using static site generators, Responsive web design, Containerisation using Docker, preferably with an orchestration service, Interacting effectively with backend developers, APIs, and databases.

Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of diagnosing and resolving issues quickly.
*
Strong attention to detail, ensuring beautiful and accurate front-end design and seamless user experience.
*
Team player with proven experience working in a team of developers and collaborating with colleagues across other departments.
Personal Attributes:
* Passionate about building web-based solutions, understanding customer needs, and bridging the gap between user requirements and back-end software.
* Creative, adaptable, and a motivated self-starter, always eager to learn new technologies and make a positive impact at a growing company.
Job responsibilities:
* To build web-based applications that support a user’s heat pump adoption experience.
* Developing modern single page applications (SPAs) and mobile apps that solve issues around scheduling, surveying and quoting for major equipment installations, project management, and energy data visualisation.
* Designing and developing the front-end of web-based and PWA applications (potentially extending to native apps) based on user requirements from product specialists.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the definition and design of front- end features.
* Embracing unit testing and ensuring product quality through automation.
