Learn about how you can contribute to our company's success in the following position: Summer Actuarial Paid Internship (May through August 2020) Work at our beautiful corporate office in Boca Raton, FL on a full-time (40 hour) schedule, Monday through Friday. Corporate rental apartment is available for selected candidates. Position Overview: Interns work on tasks similar to those of Assistant Actuarial Analysts. They analyze data and produce exhibits to display their results. This work is usually done with a more senior actuary providing guidance. A key part of success for an intern is working successfully as part of a team with full-time employees. Interns are expected to follow instructions, but also to question why we do things the way that we do. It is especially impressive, but not required, when interns suggest ways in which we can improve our analytical approaches at NCCI. Interns assist with research projects as well as production. They gain broad exposure to what actuaries do at NCCI. They develop improved analytical skills and gain exposure to programming skills that they might not have encountered before. Required Education, Experience and Skills: Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related area One or more CAS exams desired but will consider candidates who demonstrate an intention of pursuing an actuarial career Experience with Microsoft Office software applications desirable Good analytical skills and ability to work in a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills We require a drug screen and background check.
