Salary - £65,000 to £70,000 + 10% Pension + 20% Bonus + Bens

Location - London

Our client one of the UK oldest banks is looking to hire Data analytics/Development Manager with a strong understanding of data structures and systems, and good development experience in SQL and Python, R or similar type languages, with good machine learning, digital desktop, CRM and PowerApps/BI.

Overall objectives of the job:

  • Provide management information, insight and guidance to facilitate effective control and performance management
  • Lead digital development for the department
  • Play an active role on the senior team, actively contributing and directing where appropriate
  • Support in writing strategic reports for the department

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Be the Principal Point of Contact for the department on issues concerning customer data
  • Oversee the maintenance and production of a suite of management reports for the department
  • Contribute data and insight to senior management forums to assist with performance tracking and management, precipitating initiatives where appropriate to ensure and improve:
  • Control and conduct
  • Customer engagement and service excellence
  • Productivity at Section and individual level
  • Data population and completeness
  • Undertake bespoke analysis to address specific business questions, issues, concerns and opportunities
  • Develop and build models to forecast results based on different scenarios
  • Lead the development and implementation of digital developments on behalf of the department, including machine learning, digital desktop, CRM and PowerApps/BI

Background and experience necessary:

  • A good working knowledge of business practices and performance management, particularly in relation to banking
  • A strong understanding of data structures and systems
  • Excellent SQL, data analysis and visualisation skills
  • Proven ability to identify and respond to performance issues proactively


  • Python or similar programming skills
  • Working knowledge of machine learning techniques
  • Advanced statistics
