CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVES
This Business Unit is responsible for preparing IT documentation for the internal networks under its management.
The two IT systems, based on Windows and Linux architectures, are, in certain cases, standalone and not accessible from outside the office.
Some of the systems may be classified; therefore, the contractor must already hold a valid European security clearance.
The documentation is developed using two methodologies: PM² and PILAR.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
Draft, update, and maintain IT documentation for internal networks, including system architecture, configurations, security policies, and operational procedures.
Ensure clarity, accuracy, and completeness of documentation to support IT administrators and security personnel.
Maintain consistency in formatting and terminology across all documentation.
Document IT systems based on Windows and Linux architectures, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
Provide documentation for both online and standalone systems, some of which may be classified and require adherence to strict security protocols.
Ensure documentation follows company security standards and aligns with best practices for classified IT systems.
Support audits and security assessments by providing clear and structured documentation.
Apply PM² (Project Management Methodology) and PILAR (risk assessment and security methodology) as a basis for structuring documentation.
Use appropriate tools and templates to ensure consistency and compliance with internal policies.
Work closely with IT teams, security experts, and project managers to gather technical information.
Participate in meetings and reviews to ensure documentation reflects the latest system configurations and security measures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A university degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Technical Communication, or a related field.
Alternatively, a combination of professional certifications and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in technical writing for IT systems, networks, or cyber-security.
Demonstrated experience in documenting Windows and Linux-based IT systems, including security policies and system architecture.
Familiarity with classified or restricted IT environments is a strong asset.
Experience with IT security standards, compliance requirements, and risk assessment methodologies.
Knowledge of PM² project management methodology and PILAR risk assessment framework is highly desirable.
Prior experience in a public sector, governmental, or EU institution environment is an advantage.
Technical Expertise
Proven expertise writing documentation for IT Systems in the European Commission.
Proficiency in technical documentation tools.
Understanding of network security, system administration, and IT governance frameworks.
Ability to interpret technical concepts and translate them into clear, structured documentation.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with classified materials.
Fluency in English (knowledge of additional EU languages is an asset).
Certifications
PM2 and/or Pilar certification.
Soft Skills
Proficiency in technical documentation tools.
Understanding of network security, system administration, and IT governance frameworks.
Ability to interpret technical concepts and translate them into clear, structured documentation.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with classified materials.
