Senior Systems Safety Engineer

Bristol

Paying up to £70,000 (DOE) + Bonus & Private Medical

Responsibilities:

• Experience in the production and maintenance of Safety Reports and Plans: eg Safety Case Reports and Safety Management Plans.

• Experience in carrying out Hazard Identification and Hazard Analysis.

• Team and People Management Experience.

• Safety assessment and management experience working on UK Submarine programs either within the SDA or supporting the design and manufacturing activities of UK submarines.

• Nuclear Safety Design Justification (NSDJ) and Design Safety Justification Plans (DSJP).

• WOME &Strategic Weapons Systems safety assessments.

• Legislation Compliance Assessments and Statements.

• Hazard Log Management including eCassandra.

• Experience working with DE&S and following the ASEMS process.

Experience required:

• Hazardous Materials Dossier production or maintenance.

• Experience in carrying out Fault Tree Analysis (eg Isograph Reliability Workbench).

• Requirements management.

• Experience with Failure Modes, Effects (and Criticality) Analysis.

• Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering.

• Experience working with IEC 61508.

• Familiarity with ARP4754A, or DO178C/DO254 and ARP4761.

• Understanding of safety assurance of software and/or complex hardware.

• Understanding/experience working with DEF STAN 07-85.
