HSE Manager (Contract) - UK Projects

Location: UK (Multiple Project Sites)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Industry: Construction/Engineering/Infrastructure

About the Role:

WNTD is hiring an experienced HSE Manager on behalf of our client to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance across multiple UK project sites. This is a contract position requiring a proactive and hands-on approach to ensure a safe working environment while meeting all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage HSE policies and procedures in line with UK regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, identifying and addressing potential risks.
  • Conduct regular site audits, risk assessments, and safety inspections, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and implement corrective measures.
  • Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to employees, contractors, and site teams.
  • Report on HSE performance metrics, including incident trends, risk assessments, and compliance updates.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for HSE-related matters with regulatory authorities and project stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification is essential.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management, ideally within construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Right to work in the UK is mandatory.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: Fixed-term contract (length to be discussed)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Rate: Competitive (dependent on experience)
